I owe everyone a BIG apology!! I told you that I was going to blog and this is the first post since I've gotten to Kenya. There are two things that our team is trying to keep in mind. 1) Be flexible, 2) See God in all things. We are definitely getting some practice.
Excuses aren't something I make a habit, and this is no exception. The reason I haven't post is because since arriving at NV I haven't been able to connect to Wifi, except for about 5 minutes. (Help!!) Just kidding, it really hasn't bothered me. :)
I will try to bring you up to date. I'm sorry it might be short, but at least you can get a glimpse of what all is going on. ;)
Monday:
All of the team had safe and smooth travels and everyone made it to NV safely! We had a great afternoon and evening getting settled and meeting the sweet children. At 7:30 the team was welcomed by the children and house moms. You cannot imagine the love, happiness, sweetness, and appreciation that filled the room. My heart about exploded!
There is so much more I could share but I have to catch up with the team! Please pray for us as we continue to serve others. And pray that I have a few pieces of my heart left by the time I get back home. :) Thanks for all the prayers! God is so good, and I trust Him!
Tuesday:
At 7:30ish we headed out to the Lunga Lunga Slums and Wells of Joy. After a rather bumpy, jostling, horn beeping, hour ride we arrived at Lunga Lunga. There was no way to prepare for what we were about to experience. 250 happy, singing children in a rather very small space greeted us. We couldn't give hugs or high fives fast enough, not mention trying to walk. :) These children are those who their parents make no effort to send to school. Pastor Geoffory takes these children in to love and educate them, plus feeds them a meal (for some this is their only meal for the day.) After we loved on all the kids our arms and hands could hold they scampered off to finish class before lunch. We toured the school and visited with Pastor Geoffory and Pastor Mark until lunch time. I got to help serve the rice and beans to the children as they lined up to fill their bowls. Before we left I had about 10-15 kids on top of me, my happy place. :)
Love, Hannah

I think my heart just got a little bigger! What a blessing! Can't imagine what it would be like to walk among so much need.
